OK - Here's a rundown on what's been up since I last posted stuff.

On Sturday 1/26, Erin decided to become a professional roller derby girl, and was training here in the neighborhood when tragedy struck. While rollerblading with our wonderfully evil dog, Brewski, she suddenly had to swerve to avoid an oncoming motor vehicle. In a vain attempt to land safely in the grass of a nearby yard, she lost her balance and jammed her left knee up against the curb.

The result; a fractured patella (broken kneecap). Here's a pic that I took while in the ER.

She had surgery to repair on 1/30, and has since been relegated to laying in bed with her left leg elevated. She'll be in a brace for the next 6-8 weeks, and has about 6 months of rehab to look forward to. Oh yeah, and I think we'll have to check her into rehab, as she is now addicted to hillbilly heroin.

I had to take off of work to help out while she's layed up, but we have also had tons of support from our friends and family over the past three weeks. My colleagues at Brinker donated over $150 for an Old Navy gift card so Erin can get some comfy baggy pants. Our parents have taken shifts watching Erin so I can get back to work, and friends have helped watch the boys and brought food. Much love to you all.

So...

It looks like Erin's rollerblading days are over. We've decided she should focus her time on something less dangerous, like bull riding or shark wrangling. But none of that is gonna happen for a few months. I'll keep you all in the loop.

Peace out,

Lich

My name is Jason, and I'm an idiot...

I completed my NAUI Teaching Assistant certification yesterday at Clear SPrings Scuba Park. The surface temp was a balmy 42 degrees for our first dive. No worries, though, cuz the water was a nice and comy 50 degrees. It was absolutely wonderful.

Enough BS - it was friggin' cold, my friends. To make matters worse, me and my homey Chad screwed up the underwater navigation portion and had to do it twice. So instead of being in the water for 15 minutes, we were in for 33. I'm still shivereing.

We did another two dives; a rescue and led a underwater tour. It was fun. Much appreciation to Jeff and Sean, my Instructor and DM.

Check out the new video of Jared taking a shot to his family jewels courtesy of Jake. Absolutely awesome!

Happy birthday to my Mom, Lavette Ulichnie! She turned 35 on Friday!

Lich out...

Hello ulichnie.com fans -

It's the first post of the new year, and boy is it a doosy. The following video may be one of the greatest ever. Hint - There's a major payoff at the end, so watch the whole thing.

New quotes added, and a new name for their spot on the site; little dude quotes. That's right, little dude quotes just made the big time...

Still need to get the video and pics pages updated. Trying to figure out the best way to do that right now. Rome wasn't built in a day, so gimme a break. It will happen.

Lich Out.......

I'm expanding the very popular "quote of the month" into its own page. That's right, the scope of ulichnie.com continues to evolve. Right now I'm light on content, but I've instructed Erin to keep a log of all notable quotes while I'm at work. My guess is that she will fail miserably at such a simple task...

Also - after almost of year of neglect, I am going to get the videos page in order. More to come...

Booya.

Hope you all had a happy holidays. We sure did. Here's a rundown on the booty:

Erin - iPhone
Jason - Guitar (Martin D-16 GT). Sweet
Jake & Jared - Darth Vader dropped by and unloaded a truck load of action figures, light sabers, and an actual R2D2 that responds to voice commands. I also gave them all of my old action figures from when I was growing up. The surprise hit of the season was my 30 year old Millenium Falcon.

That's all for now. Keep checking back for updates...

Hey Folks. Updated picture page (here).

Jake and Jared have taken to sleeping in the same bed. Sure glad we sprung all that cash on two sleigh beds...

:: 9/17/2006 ::

Wow, it's been nearly 4 months since I've updated this site. That is pitiful. Let me get you caught up...

After Hawaii (May) I went on a 2 month roadtrip for work. I was in Phoenix, Chicago, Denver, and Toronto. All for about a week each. It was brutal. I fly back to Toronto next week, but this time only for a couple of days. Needless to say, many thanks to Erin for going it alone with the boys. She's a cool chick.

In August, we went to Florida for vacation. Many thanks to Aunt Reggie and Uncle Gerard. Check out the compilation video here, stingray video here, and Guttman checking out a wreck here, and the photos here. I'm not uploading them to the site...which brings me to my next point.

I'm moving ulichnie.com to a new hosting provider. I plan on taking this opportunity to re-do the website. Yeah, yeah, I know I haven't exactly been Johnny on the spot with updates, but hey, a guy can dream. More to come on that as things develop.

Check out the new logo here.

Finally, I'd like to say goodbye to my grandmother, Baba Ulichnie, who passed yesterday morning at a young 95 years old. She died a few weeks shy of her 96th birthday. I have many fond memories of my Baba. Goodbye, and God bless.

Hola Amigos,

I'm back from Kauai, HI and I have almost 3GB worth of video and pics to upload. I'm working my way through them all, but it is slow going. So expect constant additions over the next couple of weeks.

Here are some kick ass pics and videos form the vacation. Like I said, more to come...

Hey Amigos,

I must admit, I've been pretty lazy with the website. I have about 3 months worth of photos to update, but for some reason I can't bring myself around to uploading them. It is sheer laziness, and nothing more. I promise to get my ass into gear...but not tonight.

March is almost over, and I'm still looking for something that is "video of the month" quality. Two things are contributing to my not having found one yet. 1) We were without a camera for some time due to a minor mishap. 2) since said mishap occurred, erin has become somewhat apprehensive to pick up the camera, much less take the camera out of the house.

I've added some new topics to my blog. Check it out to find out the latest and greatest with the U-man.

I found a rare gem when I was going through our videos...another two Erin Video Screw-Ups (1) (2) from years past that went unnoticed. What an extraordinary find. As you know, these clips can be quite elusive, and often react violently when found. In this instance, I sustained a mere flesh wound which is nothing the contusion I received while capturing clip 7. Needless to say, it was all worth it.

In other news, we've lost our digital camera. No need to panic, I've acquired a new one, which is the exact same model as before. Normally I'd use this opportunity to acquire the latest in cutting edge digital technology. However, I have already purchased the underwater housing for this model for use in upcoming scuba events. Therefore, I am somewhat inclined to stay with this model. Don't worry it's still top of the line.

Talk to you soon,
Jason

:: 2/26/2006 ::

It's been a good week. I've obtained not one, not two, but three Erin Video Screw-Ups, and a great video of the boys doing what they do best: running through puddles.

You've no doubt heard of the Sasquatch. Well, Erin captured some very rare footage of this mythical beast flying a kite. She and the boys barely escaped with their lives. Thank god for her cat-like reflexes.

Updated videos including the video of the month for January. Also, check out this sandwich. I have a friend from Pittsburgh that has actually eaten one of these. She said that it lived up to expectations. Speaking of Pittsburgh...this is the year that Cower wins the show.

Mark my words.

OK friends, I dug this one out of the Ulichnie archives. It's a video of Jake from 2003 when he was roughly 17 months old. There is only one word that I could possibly use to describe this video: awesome. Click here to view.

Well, I hope everyone had a great holiday. We here in the Ulichnie clan had a pretty good one ourselves. I was able to take a good two weeks off, so I've grown somewhat accustomed to the good life. Besides celebrating the christmas and new years holiday, we've hung out with friends, gone to the zoo, and re-done our master bathroom (thanks mama). I'm not quite ready to share pictures yet...as it is still a work in progress. As of now, the little project is about 7 days and $200 over budget. However, once completed, I believe it will be the prettiest place to go to the bathroom in all of McKinney.

One thing that I have realized since being home for two weeks is that Erin doesn't get enough credit for watching the boys. These two little bad boys go 100 mph, starting at about 7:30am. For the next 12 hours, you are feeding, wiping, wrangling, changing, cleaning, hugging, kissing, spanking, bathing, playing, and sending them to time-out. She is truly a gifted woman. And she's smoking hot.

I've updated the site with all-new pics and video. Make sure you check out the newest addition to the ulichnie.com video page, erin's video screw-ups. It's a compilation of all the video that she has taken when she really intended to take a picture. This will be a mainstay on ulichnie.com, and although she has a knack for deleting the evidence, she has agreed to let me post them as she takes them. Pretty funny stuff.

Later,
Jason

OK people, you gotta check out the December video of the month. It is quite possibly the greatest video I've ever witnessed. The boys are dancing to the end of Madagascar, a song called "I like to Move It, Move It". Pay attention to Jared about 26 seconds into the thing. Listen to him say "he likes to move it. that guy moves it".

Enjoy,
Jason

Dude, San Francisco rocked. Here is the run-down of what we did. Doug, Peggy, and Jenni really gave us the grand tour. We spent the first day touring all the major sites in San Francisco. We saw the wharf, the seals, the windy street, some really big rust colored bridge, and a bunch of homes owned by rich snobby snobs. We ate chowder, taffy (way too much taffy), ribs and steak, we drank cold beer, wine and margaritas. Doug took us to the top of a mountain (he called it a hill) where we saw crazy people riding their mountain bikes up sheer cliffs. We saw old people on bikes, and young people on bikes. And that was just on day one.

Day two included a drive down to Monterey Bay where we saw more rich people, and a really big, really cool aquarium. It was awesome. We saw fish, otters, sharks, mola molas, and tons of jelly fish. It was truly a great time. I want to thank Doug, Peggy, and Jenni for their hospitality, and for putting up with a couple of imports from Texas for two days. We are definitely going to do it again.

Check out the pictures from the trip on the picture page: here

Here are some really cool videos form the trip: crazy dancing people helicopter under bridge stinky hippy boat footage water thingy

I can't remember the last time the website was updated, and for that I must apologize. However, I have taken off a week from work for the Turkey Day holiday, and much to the dismay of Erin, have vowed to get this bad boy operational once more (I also promised to move the toy room upstairs and paint the bathroom). My suspicion is that she will get over it.

Life is good in the Ulichnie clan. Jared had his second birthday on 10/30. We had a toddler blow-out, which consisted of a bounce house, a pumpkin shaped cake, and enough candy to seriously harm a large pony. There were children everywhere, and besides a small altercation during the pinata party (pic) (video), no major accidents. However, I've decided to host these little shin-dings away from Casa De Ulichnie from now on. This is due, in part, to the intense preparation and clean-up...but also to avoid any unnecessary litigation due to some rug rat splitting his melon on my drive way. Tots Towne here we come.

The pictures page is operational, but I would categorize it as more of a work in progress. However, I know how handsome my boys are, and so I've put a few recent pics out there for you to peruse at your leisure. I will continue to update as life goes on... Of course, you can always visit our Yahoo! picture page, if you really have a hankerin' for some Ulichnie.

To all of our friends and family I'd like to send out a big "Gobble Gobble" for Turkey Day, and a "Ho Ho Ho" for Christmas. Please check back, as I promise to update this sucker more often.

Thanks,
Jason
